I have a question that every person I know wants to know why! Instead of having one big prize raise the smaller ones. To get 4 numbers right and to only get a hundred dollar doesn't very fair.

Hi Carol, Thanks for the great question, we get this one often. We have created a game called Lotto Max that offers several small prizes as well as a large jackpot. You can view the answer here. We constantly explore the option of offering different prizes structures on our all of our games. A recent research throughout Canada, shows us that increasing the smaller prizes are not as popular as the larger jackpots. Increased sales and player excitement seems to be directly linked when the jackpot is high. It indicates to us that large jackpots are the most popular feature of these games. Hi Cathy, Lotto Max launched in September 2009. In the first fiscal year (September 2009 to March 2010), Atlantic Lottery gave out $18.7M in prizes and $5.3M in Free Plays, representing 54.9% of sales. From April 2010 to March 2011, Atlantic Lottery gave out $64.3M in prizes and $17M in Free Plays, representing 56.7% of sales. Renee@AtlanticLottery

“Where does the remaining un-won maxmillions go?” I noticed everyweek that the maxmillions rises but the jackpot of $60,000,000 doesn’t get any higher.. For example, last night we had 42 extra maxmillion draws - but only 17 of them was won, ‘where does the extra 25 million go?’ .. Have you guys ever thought about perhaps just making the maxmillion draws as a ‘gauranteed prize draws?’ - Plus, the maxmillions numbers doesn’t even get recorded into the ‘have my numbers ever won’ website? The same 6 to 7 numbers will never come out ever again.. Is there a way we can also get those maxmillion numbers added into the ‘have my numbers ever won’ system?
