Answer

WE HAVE A VARIETY OF SAFEGUARDS IN PLACE TO PREVENT UNDERAGE PLAY.

These include:

  • Age verification at retailers: All retailers are required to ID anyone who appears under the age of 25. We enforce our 19+ policy by performing regular mystery shopper visits. Disciplinary action involves four stages of consequences including a warning letter, $500 non-compliance fee, $1,000 non-compliance fee, and termination of Retailer Agreement.

  • Age Verification Online: Player information is electronically verified using a 3rd party database. If the information entered does not match and is rejected, players are required to send us a copy of their ID and we manually verify their age.

  • Advertising standards: Our advertising standards do not allow any Atlantic Lottery advertising and promotions to target minors.  That’s why we don’t run TV ads during children’s programming and we avoid placing billboards near schools or playgrounds.  All of our advertising is targeted to 19+.

Our commitment to keeping our products out of the hands of minors is one of the many measures we take to ensure a safe and responsible gambling industry in Atlantic Canada.
