Why does ALC make it so difficult to find winning numbers on its website and why does it take so long to post them?

Hi Paul; Sorry you had trouble finding the winning numbers on our site. We're always interested in getting feedback from our players and would love to know more about your recent experience if you wanted to send us the details. You’ll be happy to know that we are currently working on a new website that we are confident will make it easier for you to find the winning numbers. In the meantime, you can find winning numbers on our corporate website (http://bit.ly/ALWinningNumbers) or on the right-hand side of the landing page of our alc.ca web page (https://www.alc.ca/). Winning numbers are also available on smartphones and tablets at m.alc.ca and we have a mobile app for iOS devices. Last summer, we changed the time players had to purchase their lottery tickets for a draw from 10:30 p.m. to 11:29.29 p.m. (Atlantic time). This change happened right across Canada and gave players in the western provinces more flexibility to buy their tickets on draw night. Having a later purchase time also means the draws are held later and winning numbers are posted later. While the posting time for winning numbers may not be convenient for everyone, players are still able to validate their tickets the next day. - Janet @ Atlantic Lottery

In BC there is an app for your IPhone that allows you to scan the bar code on BCLC tickets purchased for 6/49 Lotto Max etc and it automatically tells you if the tickets are winners and how much or losers is there such an app available for Atlantic Lotto Corp?

Hi Phil; Thanks for sending in your question. An app that will allow users to scan or manually enter their tickets to see if they won or not is a future project that is on our road map. We would like to have an app for both iPhones and android users. Players would still need to validate their winning tickets and go through the appropriate prize claim process. If you’re in your alc.ca account, you can also find out if you won by going to either your Account History or My Messages. All of the Lotto 6/49 winning numbers are the same across Canada so you’ll be able to see them visually on our web site (https://alc.ca/content/alc/en/winning-numbers.html). If you have a winning ticket, please sign the front of the ticket, fill out the information needed on the back and mail it to Atlantic Lottery at the address printed on the back. To ensure you are 19+, we require a photocopy of government-issued photo ID to be sent with the ticket. We also recommend you keep a photocopy of your winning ticket. There, you’ll see a table with all your account activity listing not only your purchases but also your wins. That way, you can speak to one of our representative who can ask all the right questions to find out why you can't change your password. I bought 649 x2 draws and lotto max and do not know how to have them checked? Is they're somewhere to print a scanable ticket? I have no idea how to check my 20 dollars in tickets for 3 draws. Very frustrated

Hi Darcy, Thanks for your question. When you purchase any ticket from the retailer, you need to take it to a retailer (any retailer) to validate it. You can go to alc.ca to check the winning numbers(https://alc.ca/content/alc/en/winning-numbers.html) to see if it's a win prior to taking it to the retailer, however, it will need to be taken to a retailer to validate any wins. We currently do not have any scanning method to check tickets, however, are working on this for the future. If you have any other questions, please let us know. Kind Regards, Darlene

Hi Stephen - While you can view winning numbers for our draw games on our website at https://www.alc.ca/content/alc/en/winning-numbers.html and manually check your draw tickets against the winning numbers, we would also suggest having all draw tickets and instant scratch tickets validated at one of our retailers across Atlantic Canada to confirm whether your ticket is a winner or not. Hi, I bought a scratch ticket at a local retailer here in Mount Pearl NL and won $100,but when I went back to this store to redeem my prize I was told they don't have the funds to pay it out. I have heard other people say the same thing about this store. Is this normal, I thought if they are selling tickets they should be able to pay out the prize if it is under $250,please let me know your policy

Hi, thank you for writing in. There should be no issue, the store should be able to pay up to their limit. However we do understand that some stores only have a set amount of cash on hand, and if they have been or just paid out a large portion of their cash they may not be able to make it through the end of the day with little to no cash flow. That being said, you always have the opportunity to cash your tickets else where or make arrangements that would work for both you the player and the retail store. thanks again for the question. When purchasing tickets with the ALC app, there was an option to print the tickets immediately after checking out. I was clicking on the “print tickets” box however it kept me on the same page and didn’t give me the option again. Is that the only opportunity to print your tickets? I have been searching the app and alc.ca to find the option but don’t see it.

Good morning Kristy, I'm sorry to hear that you had some trouble printing your tickets! You are actually not required to print your tickets, as they are saved online for you. You can view your account transactions by signing into your alc.ca account. Once you have successfully logged in, select "My Account" up in the right hand corner followed by "Account History". You can select to view all transactions, or using the drop down menu provides you with the option to view only wagers and purchases or winnings. By clicking on the Details button of the transaction you wish to view, your numbers should appear. You can change the date range to find exactly what you are looking for. Our alc.ca online system will automatically validate all transactions that you purchase on the site and you will be automatically notified by e-mail if you win. If you win a prize under $10,000, the amount you won will be automatically deposited into your alc.ca account and for prizes over $10,000, you must claim your prize at an Atlantic Lottery office. Hello. I validated a lotto Max ticked at Agent # 006465 on either the 6th or 8th of August, The ticket won what was supposed to be a free ticket . The more I look at the ticket the more it appears to be unusual. It shows a free lotto max for August 10 , following that , it shows the twist sign then a line of dashes and another Twist logo and 3 lines of numbers. I thought that the Twist numbers were highlighted in black on the Max numbers. Looking foward to your answer.

Hello Eileen, Thank you for your inquiry. On your Lotto Max ticket you will have the Twist logo and right below it will state if you have Played or Not the Twist on it. If you have played the Twist game then your Twist numbers will be Shaded and they can be located throughout the three lines of your Lotto Max numbers. I hope this answers your question. Hello Eileen, Thank you for the response. If you do not have any Twist numbers shaded on your ticket then it would indicate that Twist would not have been purchased on it. Unfortunately there is no way to purchase Twist separately on a ticket. If you wish we can certainly take a look at this further with you. Would you be able to contact us at 1-800-561-3942 so we may ask you some additional details about the ticket like the sensitive ticket# as we can look it up in our system to see what has been purchased on it. I am hearing there is a mobile app that can scan our tickets for winning #'s, I hear it has been out West for some time now, is this correct or is this fiction because a recent winner out West claims he downloaded the app to check his ticket, does this app exist and if so , why has it been over a year since I seen posts asking when this app is going to be available for the rest of Canada, Please provide some more information other then it is in the future

Yes, some of the other lottery jurisdictions do have a feature on their app where you can key in your ticket number or scan it to verify whether it is a winner but you would still have to take your ticket to a lottery retailer to be validated to collect any winnings. Each lottery jurisdiction is separate and it is up to each one whether they decide to implement this technology on their mobile app. While ALC had planned to include this feature in the relaunched app last fall, we were unable to and we do not have an ETA for this to be added. Hi Maria, Thank you for your inquiry. Lottery tickets can only be validated in the jurisdiction they were purchased in. A ticket from Atlantic Canada cannot be validated in Ontario. In order to claim a small win, you would need to mail the signed ticket to Atlantic Lottery along with a photocopy of ID such as your driver’s license. This is to ensure we are validating a ticket for a player who is at least 19 years of age. The ticket and ID can be mailed to: Atlantic Lottery Corporation PO Box 5500 922 Main Street Moncton, NB E1C 8W6 After we validate the ticket and confirm the win, we would mail you the winnings via cheque.
